So, I was going to follow that last post in a few days with something more about being a parent who tattoos as opposed to a parent who has tattoos.  But then I saw this, and wanted to write straight away.  This is something that I've been thinking about for a while.
The picture above comes from an article about a five year old girl that tattooed part of an image of a bee on her dad's arm.  She had chosen the design for him, and the guy doing the work asked her if she wanted to fill some of it in.
My mentor, Joe Baker has a 12 year old son who tattooed him.  He says that he isn't pushing him to tattoo for a living when he's older, but that it's a good skill to have.  I agree.  If Addie is interested when she's a bit older, then I would be very happy to teach her how to tattoo.
I guess that all of this relates to what was in the other post about parenting.  How much do you think that my career choice will affect my daughter?

Well mate, as a Dad to be i could think of nothing more awesome than having my little one choose a tattoo for me and put her hand to it too. It sure beats sticking her artwork on the fridge door. I recently had a really good friend of mine tattoo Alpha and Omega on my chest and i have to tell you there is something pretty special about the bond of friendship that it creates. Now think about that bond with your own flesh and blood involved. Real special i have to say.

That is so cool! I love it Mark. Just think how good Addie would be by the time she got older. I think it would be a great time together and being a daughter to my own father there is nothing better then getting to help your Dad with his work. Tat on my friend!

My Kids went to a birthday party recently and came home with a kids tattoo gun ages 6+ (basically a marker that vibrates with stencils)

Pshhh ... I think as long as they know that is a lifetime with a tattoo and not something to take lightly ( A)like I did B) they now remove tattoos but still ... waste of money and art)

Secondly, I'd love to get a tattoo from my kids! Their super creative all ready (their 5)... I save all their work. (well, the non rotting non edible stuff)
